His answer: "Sorry, but we can't do anything about it".ġ) "Sorry sir, but we could borrow you a business flatrate internet stick for a small nominal fee over the weekend so you can install our mighty fine flagship sequencer without trouble!"Ģ) "Sorry sir, but you could bring us a copy of your system drive and we'll install it here for you for a nominal fee". Having said all that, the support from the Apple Store dude was as bad as it gets, too. There's nothing to justify Apples ridiculous approach, let alone defending it a la "it's 2018 and you are expected to have fast internet flatrates everywhere" - which simply isn't the case over here in Germany (even more strange in the case of Logic when most of the involved folks still work here, so they're certainly aware of possible troubles).

And they require none of all that nonsense, you just download them at any place you wish. See, it's absolutely ridiculous expecting me having to disconnect everything, carry the stuff through a long building, ordering a cab (would cost around 40 bucks both ways, too, fwiw), lug everything up to the 3rd floor - and then the same shebang the other way around.Īnd as said, it's got nothing to do with apps being tied to my machine, the same is true for Native Instruments' plugins. But as a Logic user I have to carry my machine through half the town? Sorry but no! All I need is an external USB drive to be ready to download whatever stuff anywhere, on any machine, be it old OSX boxes, Windows machines or a Linux thing.

I mean, am I supposed to permanently move my computer around as soon as there's whatever updates? They can't be serious about that! I don't need to do that for *any* other piece of software I'm using. I left my adress there, so they can sue me all they want - but I'd rather not do that as a company who hasn't got much else to do but to permanently come up with new ways to maximally ridicule their users. Fwiw, it's what I told the Apple guy in the shop, too. Guess my next stop will be the friendly torrent shop around the corner. Wife and kids are away for the weekend using the car and I'm not gonna pay a taxi, that's for sure. There's absolutely *no way* that I'll bring the heavy machine and 21" monitor home. Just that I can download them whereever I feel like.

No help from the "geniuses" there, either.Īnd well, my Native Instruments plugins are tied to my account and my computer, too (or at least not any less than Logic).
